BELGIUM v TUNISIA

Football – World – World Cup 2018 Betting Tips

Welcome to my World Cup 2018 betting tips, and Belgium will be hoping they can produce a much more convincing performance when they take on Tunisia in Saturday’s lunchtime kickoff in Group G, after making hard work of Panama.

In their opening group match, Belgium registered an eventual 3-0 win over Panama, but the score line may flatter them slightly as the first half was a very disappointing and abject display by the Red Devils as they went into half-time with the scores level at 0-0.

Although they dominated possession in the first half, they had little to show for their efforts despite De Bruyne and Hazard linking up well, it was often the final ball that was lacking amidst an air of no real sense of urgency.

Mounier made some good runs going forward, but Carrasco was exposed in his left midfield role, especially when called upon to defend. It wasn’t until the start of the second half when we saw glimpses of the Belgium we’re more familiar with when Mertens broke the deadlock. This was followed by a swift brace from Manchester United’s Lukaku, scoring in the 69th and 75th minute to wrap up the points for Roberto Martinez’s men, and became Belgium’s third win on the trot in recent times.

Tunisia can count themselves a little unfortunate not to have got something out of their opening Group G clash with England as they held the Three Lions to a seemingly 1-1 stalemate with just injury time to be played.

The Tunisians started with a 4-3-3 formation, spearheaded by Sunderland’s Khazri, and they appeared to be well organised, physical and moved the ball around with more purpose than England, although England enjoyed greater possession in the first half but spurned numerous opportunities to go ahead.

England took the lead through striker Kane, but Tunisia levelled from the spot through Sassi after Ben Youssef was adjudged to have been fouled by Kyle Walker in the box. They held England to 1-1 with just a few minutes to spare before Kane struck again late, but I was impressed by how well Tunisia dealt with England’s pressure, albeit laboured, in the second half and were unlucky not to get a point I felt.

Still, Tunisia know they can match the bigger European teams for endeavour and physicality, and my betting tips system suggests they’ll also hold Belgium with scores level at half-time in this clash too.
