Belgium Preview – Can Belgium grab the points?

All roads do seem to be heading towards a straightforward home win here for Belgium who secured the spoils with a solid 2-0 win away from home at Denmark in their opening Group 2 match, and with home advantage behind them here along with having won their last 11 matches on the trot in all competitions, the Red Devils look well placed for further success here.

In addition, each of these last 11 victories were won by at least a 2-goal margin if not higher, while Belgium’s results and performances at home have been among the best on the international scene as the hosts are unbeaten in their last 24 matches, winning 20 of these.

Indeed, it’s been four years since Belgium last lost a match on home turf (September 2016 v Spain in a friendly), and along with 13 clean sheets within these last 24 matches, they’ve also beaten Iceland in all of their previous 11 meetings as well!

Iceland Preview – Can Iceland produce a response?

Iceland suffered a 1-0 defeat at home to England in their Nations League Group 2 opener and they now face a tough trip to face an in-form Belgium side who are bursting with quality and in their own backyard in Brussels, having won their last 11 meetings against the visitors too.

After just one match the pattern of this group has already started to take shape with Belgium and England vying for top spot while Iceland look to be battling it out with Denmark to avoid relegation, but recent results had at least been encouraging for Iceland.

The visitors had put together a five-match unbeaten run but it’s been their tentative displays away from home which has cost the visitors as they’ve picked up just two wins from their previous 13 matches on their travels, which were gained away at minnows, Andorra and Moldova respectively, while just two clean sheets during this period could spell further trouble for Iceland at Belgium on Tuesday night.
