We take a look at the latest betting odds.

Birmingham City Preview – Blues to fall to a third home defeat in four?

Aitor Karanka has made a steady start to life at St Andrew’s Trillion Trophy Stadium, guiding the club to three wins and four draws in the Championship. However, the midweek home loss was City’s third league defeat of the season so far.

The Blues fell to a disappointing 2-1 home reverse to lowly Wycombe Wanderers last time out. Despite taking the lead, two late goals from the visitors gave the Chairboys all three points in Birmingham. Before then, though, City had secured back-to-back 2-1 wins over Huddersfield Town and Preston North End.

Our betting prediction:
Bournemouth to win by one goal
13/5

Birmingham find themselves down in 15th place after ten games, collecting 13 points from a possible 30. With the final international break of 2020 around the corner, can the Midlands outfit sign off with a win on home turf this Saturday? The bookies are pricing the Birmingham victory at the tempting odds of 11/4.

Bournemouth Preview – Cherries to secure first victory in three?

Jason Tindall’s Bournemouth were unbeaten in their opening nine Championship matches, winning four and drawing five. The Cherries have seen off Blackburn Rovers, Norwich City, Coventry City and Bristol City up until now.

After a 1-1 home draw with Derby County last weekend, Bournemouth crashed to a poor loss at Sheffield Wednesday last time out. The Owls – who remain bottom of the table after a points deduction – netted a penalty in the second period to secure a 1-0 win at Hillsborough.

Bournemouth are still many people’s favourites for the title, but Tindall’s team head to Birmingham having won just one of their past six in the Championship, taking only seven points from a possible 18. The Cherries will be desperate to get back to winning ways at the weekend.

Birmingham City vs Bournemouth Betting Advice

The last two Birmingham vs Bournemouth meetings have been cup affairs, with both games ending in 2-1 away wins for the Cherries. This will be the first Championship game between the pair since Bournemouth won 4-2 at the Vitality Stadium in April 2015. Six months earlier, they won 8-0 at St Andrew’s.

Key Facts – Birmingham City vs Bournemouth Betting Tip

  • When these two sides last met at St Andrew’s in league action, Bournemouth left with a thumping 8-0 win
  • Defeat at Hillsborough last time out was the Cherries’ first Championship loss of their campaign
  • Birmingham had won two in a row before Wednesday’s home defeat to Wycombe

Bournemouth have been hard to beat under Tindall, with just Manchester City and Sheffield Wednesday getting the better of them so far this season.

Birmingham have looked vulnerable at home, and defeat on Saturday will be their third loss in their last four on their own patch.

All four of City’s league and cup defeats have been by one goal, while Bournemouth have won by a one-goal margin three times in the Championship this season. We like the look of the 2-1 away victory, which is nicely priced at 8/1 with Unibet.
