Blackburn Rovers Prediction

It’s been an all-or-nothing sort of campaign for Tony Mowbray’s Blackburn Rovers side as they started the season in positive and solid fashion as they’d lost just once in their first 10 league matches of the season in their return to the Championship.

But Rovers have since failed to maintain any sort of consistency as they’ve lurched from three defeats on the trot at the end of December (to Norwich City, Leeds United and Sheffield United) to four wins on the trot during January (over West Brom, Millwall, Ipswich Town and Hull City), back to six defeats from their last seven matches overall leading up to tonight’s match.

It certainly seems a case of wondering which Blackburn Rovers side will turn up in any given match now, but although they’ve lost their last three home matches on the trot, tonight’s clash with Wigan Athletic represents a great opportunity to get their season back on track.

Rovers possess an okay looking home record of 7-6-5 23/18 which has been dented by their three recent defeats, but the likes of Dack (11 goals), Armstrong (4 goals) and Graham (11 goals) should be able to find the net on Tuesday night.

Key-Facts – Blackburn Rovers v Wigan Athletic

  • Blackburn Rovers have lost their last 3 home matches on the trot
  • Blackburn Rovers are unbeaten in their last 5 home meetings against Wigan
  • Wigan are without an away win from their last 16 matches on the road

Wigan Athletic Prediction

Wigan Athletic’s situation down near the bottom of the Championship continues to be a precarious one as The Latics suffered their second defeat on the trot on Saturday when they lost a relegation ‘six-pointer’ away at Reading in a 3-2 loss at the Madejski Stadium.

That defeat to The Royals followed an earlier 2-1 loss away at Derby County and extended Wigan’s run of matches without a win in the Championship to six matches, with their last success coming in a 2-1 home win against QPR at the start of February.

The story gets worse when looking at Wigan’s results away from home as the visitors have lost four of their last five matches on their travels, and indeed, are without a win from their last 16 matches on the road.

An away record of 1-3-14 16/35 is a very poor return indeed for Paul Cook’s side but they may fancy their chances of ending this horrific sequence of results away from home against an out of sorts Blackburn Rovers outfit on Tuesday night.

With just one clean sheet on the road, it’ll likely be an uphill task here.

Betting Tips Verdict

Blackburn Rovers arguably possess greater quality in attack and this could be the difference in this clash. Back the hosts with the draw no bet option.
