Blackburn Rovers Preview – Can the Blue and Whites get back to winning ways?
Blackburn Rovers recently made a surge for the play-offs after winning five and drawing one of six. However, the Blue and Whites have picked up just two Championship wins since then. After back-to-back victories over Sheffield Wednesday (5-0) and Queens Park Rangers (2-1), Blackburn have taken one point from their last two.
Last weekend, Rovers were narrowly beaten at home by high-flying Fulham. It was a close game at Ewood Park, with Aleksandar Mitrovic’s 65th-minute strike giving Scott Parker’s Cottagers a 1-0 win.
The defeat to Fulham was Blackburn’s first home league loss since September. Rovers had previously won five and drawn five of ten Championship matches on their own patch. In fact, only Fulham, Luton Town and Charlton Athletic have left Ewood Park with all three points this season.
Blackburn still have slim hopes of reaching the top six. Before the midweek fixtures, Tony Mowbray’s men are six points adrift of sixth place. Rovers are the favourites to get the win in this one.
Hull City Preview – Another defeat for the Tigers?
Hull City have dropped down the table after a poor run of results. Last weekend’s 1-1 draw at Reading stopped a run of four consecutive Championship defeats, but Grant McCann’s men are without a league win since winning 1-0 at Sheffield Wednesday on New Year’s Day.
The Tigers’ poor form has seen them slip down to 14th in the table, now ten points adrift of the top six. Nevertheless, Hull have been a tough nut to crack away from home in recent weeks, losing only one of their last six in all competitions, with half of those being wins.

Hull would love to get back on track with an invaluable three points at Ewood Park on Tuesday. However, they were beaten 3-0 at Blackburn last season, and they have not won at Ewood Park in league action for four years. You can get Hull at 7/2 to prevail in midweek.
Blackburn Rovers vs Hull City Betting Advice
Blackburn have won each of the last three meetings, scoring five and conceding none. In the reverse game at the KCOM Stadium in August, Rovers ran out 1-0 winners, with Derrick Williams scoring the only goal of the game. Also, Blackburn did the double over the Tigers last term without conceding a single goal.
Key Facts – Blackburn Rovers vs Hull City Betting Tip
- Blackburn have lost just three times at Ewood Park this season
- Hull have taken only one point from the last 15 on offer
- Rovers have won five of their previous nine at home in the Championship
Blackburn have been pretty strong on their own patch this season, and they should secure another three points on home soil this Tuesday. Hull could struggle at Ewood Park once again, so have a punt on the hosts to win to nil at the top price of 2/1.
Adam Armstrong is enjoying a fine season at Ewood Park. The striker is in excellent form, scoring six times in his last 13 league and cup appearances for Rovers. I’m tipping Armstrong to net first in this one at 13/2.
