Blackpool Preview – Will the Tangerines upset the promotion hopefuls?

Blackpool could be the dark horse in the race for the play-offs this season. Ahead of this round of fixtures, Pool are in fine fettle and are only a few points away from sixth.

Blackpool have made a strong start to 2022, unbeaten in five Championship games. The Tangerines have seen off Hull City, Millwall and Bristol City. They drew 1-1 with leaders Fulham at Craven Cottage on 29th January, and also drew 1-1 with Coventry City away from home in midweek.

Our betting prediction:
Both teams to score

Blackpool have been superb at Bloomfield Road in recent weeks, winning four of the past five. Since losing 2-1 to Middlesbrough, Critchley’s troops have bounced back with successive home victories over Hull, Millwall and Bristol City. Can they make it four in a row at the weekend?

Bournemouth Preview – Can the Cherries leave Lancashire with all three points?

Bournemouth have been in patchy form of late, picking up just a handful of wins since November. Last weekend, the Cherries were embarrassed in the FA Cup by non-league Boreham Wood.

The Cherries have had their issues at home, but Scott Parker’s boys the best away record in the division. They have won three of their past four on the road in all competitions, picking up a 1-0 victory at Barnsley in the last one.

Blackpool vs Bournemouth Betting Advice

Blackpool fought back from two goals down to shock Bournemouth when the duo went head-to-head at the Vitality Stadium back in August. Two Dominic Solanke goals before the 20-minute mark gave the Cherries a comfortable 2-0 lead. However, the hosts took their foot off the gas, and two goals in three second-half minutes earned Pool a point.

Bournemouth ran out big 6-1 winners when they last met at Bloomfield Road in 2014. The reverse game that season ended in a 4-0 victory for the Dorset outfit.

Key Facts – Blackpool vs Bournemouth Betting Tip

  • Blackpool have won three and drawn two of their past five in the league
  • The pair played out an entertaining 2-2 draw at the Vitality in August
  • The Cherries have scored 12 goals in their last three against Pool

Bournemouth have the best away record in the Championship, picking up eight wins from 15 games. The visitors are the favourites here, but Blackpool are a tough nut to crack at Bloomfield Road.

We fancy this to end all square in Lancashire. Take a punt on the draw and both teams to score at 4/1. If you are feeling brave enough, back another 2-2 draw between the two at the eye-opening odds of 16/1.
