Bodo/Glimt Preview – Can Bodo/Glimt replicate domestic form?

Thursday’s hosts, Bodo/Glimt, are currently flying high on the domestic scene as they sit 13 points clear at the top of the Norwegian Eliteserien ahead of 2nd placed Molde and will no doubt be in confident mood as they prepare for this upcoming Europa League 2nd qualifying round tie with Lithuanian outfit, Zalgiris.

Bodo/Glimt have emerged as the leaders of the pecking order in the Norwegian domestic scene ahead of Molde and Midtjylland and still remain unbeaten in the top flight, winning 15 of their 17 matches to date (along with two draws), and they’ve also disposed of Lithuanian opposition in the Europa League too.

A 6-1 home win in the 1st qualifying round of this competition saw Bodo/Glimt deal with Kauno Zalgiris in no uncertain fashion, and the hosts look set for further success against another Lithuanian club on Thursday night, especially as they’ve won their last 10 home matches on the trot.

Both teams to score

Zalgiris Preview – Can Zalgiris cause upset?

Zalgiris have also enjoyed moderate success in their domestic A Lyga as they currently sit in 2nd place and just two points behind the league leaders, Suduva, but it’s a different prospect that awaits them in this 2nd qualifying round tie in the Europa League against an in-form Bodo/Glimt outfit.

The visitors have suffered just one defeat out of their last 13 matches overall in all competitions which was away at Suduva, but otherwise it’s been a solid campaign from Zalgiris who also progressed from the 1st qualifying round with a 2-0 home win over Estonian side, Paide.

However, results away from home in the Europa League have been fairly ordinary as they’ve managed to collect just two wins from their last 13 away ties in the competition and have kept just one clean sheet in the process!
