Bolton Wanderers play host to Bristol City as my betting tips continue in the Championship at the Macron Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Bolton survived relegation from the second tier on the very last day of the season when they recorded a vital 3-2 home win over Nottingham Forest, which intern sent Barnsley through the trap-door rather than themselves.
Bolton manager, Phil Parkinson will be keen to avoid any last day dramas this time around as he looks to address the Trotters’ extremely poor away record in this division – something they went some way towards in last weekend’s opening 2-1 win away at West Brom.
They now have a chance to build upon this promising start this Saturday when they entertain Bristol City, but prior to the Forest win, Bolton had slumped to three defeats on the trot with losses to Birmingham City, Millwall and Wolves.
Bristol City shared the points with Nottingham Forest in last week’s opening match of the new Championship season as they drew 1-1 at Ashton Gate, which means that Bristol City have now managed just one league win from their last nine matches overall.
The Robins started last campaign in promising fashion as they lost just twice in their first 17 league matches, but things fell away from there on in, and the second half of the season saw the west country outfit register just five further wins from the subsequent 23 matches of the season.
The visitors ended last term without an away win from their final 12 matches, and this is something that manager, Lee Johnson, will need fix if his side are to sustain a challenge for a top six finish this time around.
This may be the perfect time for Bristol City to fix their away day woes, and my betting tips suggest backing the visitors with the draw no bet option.
