Bosnia & Herzegovina Preview – First win for the Dragons?
Bosnia & Herzegovina have played the joint fewest games in the group with Finland, drawing two and losing one of their opening three qualifiers. After taking just two points, Ivaylo Petev’s boys will be looking for a victory in front of their home supporters on Tuesday night.
After drawing with Finland in Helsinki in their opening qualifier, Bosnia were narrowly beaten by France in Sarajevo in game two. However, they returned to qualifying last week with an excellent draw with the French in Strasbourg. The evergreen Edin Dzeko got their goal. Bosnia then beat Kuwait 1-0 in a friendly on Saturday.
With back-to-back games against Kazakhstan coming up, Bosnia & Herzegovina will be looking for six points out of six before next month’s tough trip to Ukraine. The Dragons are the big favourites on home turf in midweek.
Kazakhstan Preview – Hard evening for the Hawks?
Talgat Baysufinov’s Kazakhstan are without doubt the weakest link in Group D, but the Hawks have taken points from Ukraine, drawing home and away with the UEFA Euro 2020 quarter-finalists. Overall, they have picked up two points from a possible 12 and sit bottom.
Kazakhstan’s campaign got up and running back in March with a 2-0 loss to France in Nur-Sultan. On matchday two, they left the Ukrainian capital with a 1-1 draw and then drew 2-2 with the same side on 1st September – Ruslan Valiullin rescued a point in the 96th minute.
