Bournemouth Prediction

Bournemouth ended their miserable four match sequence without a win last time out when they recorded a much needed 2-0 win over West Ham at the Vitality Stadium and they have a chance to record back-to-back wins when they play host to Chelsea on Wednesday night.

Before the victory over The Hammers, Bournemouth had lost three of their previous four games with defeats to Tottenham, Manchester United and Everton, all of which were away from home while The Cherries earned a point from an entertaining 3-3 draw at home with Watford.

Bournemouth had earlier registered a 2-0 win over south coast rivals Brighton, but the fact remains that Eddie Howe’s side have managed just two wins from their last eight matches in the Premier League.

That said, Bournemouth still posses a decent home record that stands at 6-3-3 21/17 which includes just one defeat from their last five matches as their form has improved at the Vitality Stadium. One statistic that stands out though is that Bournemouth have lost all three matches at home against the ‘Big Six’ – Manchester United 1-2, Arsenal 1-2 and Liverpool 0-4.

Key-Facts – Bournemouth v Chelsea

  • Bournemouth have managed just 2 wins from their last 8 matches
  • Bournemouth have lost all 3 matches at home against ‘Big Six’ opposition
  • Chelsea haven’t lost to a team outside the top seven away from home

Chelsea Prediction

Following their disappointing 2-0 defeat away at London rivals Arsenal, Chelsea have bounced back with two cups wins on the trot which saw them win through on penalties against Tottenham in the League Cup along with a resounding 3-0 home win over Championship outfit Sheffield Wednesday in the 4th round of the FA Cup.

It’s been a difficult recent period for Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri as he tries to get the best out of his players and stay in the race for a top four finish and the prize of Champions League football next season.

The visitors have won three of their last five matches with wins against Watford, Crystal Palace and Newcastle United, while their away record remains at a reasonable 7-1-3 19/10 with their three away losses being against teams sitting in the top seven of the top flight – Tottenham, Wolves and Arsenal.

With Arsenal and Manchester United both breathing down their necks, Chelsea will be desperate for all three points here, and the visitors will take heart from the fact that Manchester united could only muster a point in a 2-2 draw at home with Burnley on Tuesday night.

Betting Tips Verdict

Bournemouth have won the games they were expected to win at home but their results against the ‘Big Six’ teams have been disappointing. Anything other than a Chelsea win would be a surprise.
