BOURNEMOUTH v SOUTHAMPTON

Football – England – Premier League Betting Tips

Next up is a south coast clash between Bournemouth and Southampton as the betting tips continue in the Premier League this Saturday afternoon.

It’s almost been a tale of two cities so far this season as Eddie Howe’s Bournemouth side have enjoyed a great start to their new top flight campaign, sitting in 6th place and just two points adrift of 5th placed Tottenham having registered recent back-to-back wins against Crystal Palace and Watford prior to the international break.

Bournemouth would have fancied their chances of picking up points against those recent opposition, but nevertheless, Howe will be delighted that his side picked up maximum points with maintaining their top flight status their first priority.

The Cherries still remain unbeaten at the Vitality Stadium too with a record of  3-1-0  10/5 behind them, and maybe Bournemouth fans are daring to dream of a possible challenge for Europe later on. But for now, four wins from their last five on home turf should place the hosts in a strong position for this encounter.

Midfielders Fraser (3 goals) and promising Brooks along with forwards King (4 goals) and Wilson (3 goals) are the main danger men for The Cherries, although Fraser is an injury doubt.

Southampton on the other hand, would have welcomed the international break as they had suffered three league defeats on the trot to Liverpool, Wolves and Chelsea (all to nil) as Mark Hughes’s side continue to struggle in the bottom half of the Premier League this term.

It’s now four matches without a win for Saints who were also held to a draw by Brighton at their St Mary’s Stadium, and indeed, the visitors have registered just one win so far in this new top flight season, which was a 2-0 away win against a Zaha-less Crystal Palace outfit.

Southampton have lost three out of their four away matches already this season and they’ll be up against an in-form and confident Bournemouth side. They’re also expected to be without the services of their first choice goalkeeper, Alex McCarthy who is rated as doubtful and his absence would be a big blow to Hughes’s side.
