Bournemouth Prediction – Can Bournemouth find festive cheer?

A totally unexpected but nevertheless, very welcome three points at Stamford Bridge saw Bournemouth register a 1-0 win against Chelsea recently, but The Cherries were unable to back that result up when they returned to their Vitality Stadium on the weekend.

Bournemouth suffered a disappointing 1-0 loss at home to Burnley which became the south coast club’s sixth defeat in seven matches in the Premier League and although the hosts are still occupy a relatively safe 14th place on the top flight ladder, The Cherries are now just 4 points above the relegation zone ahead of the Boxing Day action.

This season has seen a slight shift in Bournemouth’s fortunes as they’d usually been pretty solid at home but Eddie Howe’s side have actually picked up more wins on the road to date this term than at their Vitality Stadium where they’ve posted a disappointing record of 2-3-4 9/13 so far.

3 defeats on the trot to Wolves, Liverpool and Burnley certainly haven’t done Bournemouth any favours in recent times on home turf.

Arsenal Prediction – Can Arsenal turn the corner with Arteta?

Relatively speaking, Arsenal’s season has been even worse than Bournemouth’s as the level of expectation prior to the season starting has been well and truly thrown out the window as The Gunners occupy 11th place on the Premier League ladder.

Recently installed permanent manager and former player, Mikel Arteta, will be desperate for his new side to improve upon recording just 1 win out of their last 10 matches overall in the Premier League, which proved to be a false dawn under caretaker-manager, Freddie Ljungberg, with a 3-1 win away from home at West Ham.

A 3-0 defeat at home to Manchester City followed and then a point at Goodison Park saw Arsenal draw 0-0 against a rejuvenated Everton outfit in Duncan Ferguson’s last match in charge of The Toffees, so Arteta has plenty of work to do to get Arsenal challenging for at least a top six finish.

Away from home, The Gunners have won just 1 of their last 8 matches which is unacceptable for a club the size of Arsenal, amidst an overall away record of 2-4-3 10/12, but the visitors have won the last 3 meetings on the trot against Bournemouth, which will give them hope here.

Key-Facts – Bournemouth vs Arsenal

  • Bournemouth have lost 6 of their last 7 matches overall in the EPL
  • Bournemouth have lost their last 3 home matches on the trot
  • Arsenal have won the last 3 meetings on the trot against Bournemouth

Betting Tips Verdict

Bournemouth seem to be stuck in a rut at the moment while Arsenal will be hoping to make a fresh start under Arteta here.
