Bournemouth Preview – Can Bournemouth re-group?
Bournemouth’s fairytale in the English top flight finally came to an end at the end of last season as Eddie Howe’s Cherries were unable to stay afloat and the south coast club fell through the trap-door down to the Championship as the changes have been rung.
Manager, Eddie Howe, left the club by mutual consent and key personnel such as goalkeeper Ramsdale, defender Ake, midfielder Fraser and forward Wilson have all left the club and joined Sheffield United, Manchester City and Newcastle United respectively, but the hosts still possess some dangerous attacking players in the shape of Solanke, King, Gosling and Stanislas.
However, with Howe gone and new boss Jason Tindall in charge, it’s likely to take some time for this new-look Bournemouth to gel, so goals may be the best option here especially as four of the previous six meetings between these two sides have resulted in over 2.5 goals.
Blackburn Rovers Preview – Can Blackburn challenge for play-offs?
Blackburn Rovers’s run-in towards the end of last season in the Championship was quite frankly, a disappointment as the visitors claimed just three wins from their final 13 matches of the campaign which left them in mid-table mediocrity of 11th place.
Two of these three aforementioned wins were recorded on home turf at Ewood Park and is symptomatic of their season as they lost just four of their 23 matches at home but finished the season with an away record of 7-3-13 33/39.
Only Luton Town (15) and Barnsley (14) suffered more defeats on the road than Blackburn in the Championship last term, so the prospects of an away win here seem slim; instead, goals may well beckon here as four of Blackburn’s last seven away matches have also seen over 2.5 goals scored.
