Bournemouth Preview – Seventh league victory for the Cherries?

Bournemouth have made a blistering start under new boss Scott Parker, winning six and drawing four of their opening ten. They are level on points with West Bromwich Albion at the top, with the Baggies only ahead on goal difference.

Bournemouth have been in stunning form of late. Before the midweek draw with Peterborough United at the Weston Homes Stadium, the Cherries picked up four consecutive Championship wins, seeing off Barnsley, Queens Park Rangers, Cardiff City and Luton Town.

Parker’s boys are one of just two teams yet to be beaten in this season’s Championship. After drawing a blank in Peterborough on Wednesday, the Dorset club will be after all three points from this one. The hosts are the favourites, with the bookies pricing the home victory at 19/20.

Sheffield United Preview – Can the Blades bounce back from defeat?

Sheffield United have recovered well from a poor start. Three wins in their past five league games have lifted the Blades into mid-table. However, they head to Bournemouth on the back of a midweek away defeat, losing 2-0 to Neil Warnock’s Middlesbrough.

Before the loss at the Riverside Stadium, Slavisa Jokanovic’s side were unbeaten in five in the Championship, picking up three wins and drawing twice. Their one and only away victory so far came at Hull City on 18th September.

Sheffield United have looked much more like their usual selves of late, but Tuesday’s loss in Middlesbrough was without doubt a setback. Can they hit back and upset the high-flying Cherries on Saturday?

Bournemouth vs Sheffield United Betting Advice

It was a Premier League fixture when these two teams last met. The pair locked horns in the 2019-20 top-fight campaign, with the Blades taking four points from the two meetings. After a 1-1 draw at the Vitality Stadium in August 2019, goals from Billy Sharp and John Lundstram were enough to give United a 2-1 home win in February 2020. The previous four meetings were in EFL League One, with Sheffield United winning them all.

Key Facts – Bournemouth vs Sheffield United Betting Tip

  • Bournemouth are unbeaten so far, winning six and drawing four of ten
  • Sheffield United have won three of their previous five in the league
  • The Blades are undefeated in ten against the Cherries, winning nine and drawing one

Sheffield United have a stunning recent record in this fixture, winning nine and drawing one of the previous ten meetings. Bournemouth’s last victory over the Sheffield side came way back in 1987.

However, Bournemouth are a different animal these days as they look to get back to the Premier League, and our money is going on the home win here (19/20).

Dominic Solanke has been in fine form this season, scoring seven times, with six of those coming in the Championship. Solanke was on target in Bournemouth’s last victory, and you can get 2/1 for the 24-year-old to net in a Bournemouth win at the weekend.
