Bradford look for good start at home against Barnsley

League One/Two Tips

BRADFORD CITY v BARNSLEY

Saturday 11th August 2018 – Kickoff: 1500hrs

Football – England – League One Betting Tips

Next up in League One is an all-Yorkshire clash as west meets south with Bradford City taking on Barnsley as my betting tips continue at Valley Parade this Saturday afternoon.

Although Bradford City ended last season in League One in solid fashion having suffered just one defeat in their final eight matches of the season, it was their inability to win matches on home turf on a consistent basis which had players and fans alike bemoaning their luck at home.

This is something that manager, Michael Collins, will be keen to address this time around as The Bantams look to improve upon last season’s home record which finished up on a disappointing  9-4-10  28/32 which contributed towards a mediocre mid-table finish.

However, Bradford got their new League One season off to a great start in an opening 1-0 win away at last season’s Play-Off finalists, Shrewsbury Town last Saturday.

Last season’s top goalscorer, Wyke (15 goals) has since moved to Sunderland, but in comes former Preston North End forward Eoin Doyle who hit 14 goals last term, as well as experienced midfielders Akpan (from Burton Albion) and Scannell (from Huddersfield Town).

Barnsley’s plans of making a swift return back up to the Championship certainly started on the right path following their emphatic 4-0 home win over Oxford United in their opening match of the season in League One at Oakwell last week.

Even more impressive was that The Tykes hit four goals without forward Kieffer Moore hitting the back of the net, and big things are expected of the former Rotherham United and Ipswich Town striker this season for the south Yorkshire outfit.

But as good as last week’s result was, it’s Barnsley’s away form which will come under close scrutiny this term as they ended last season’s Championship relegation season in disastrous fashion, winning just once in their last 11 away matches.

My betting tips suggest backing Bradford to get off to a solid start with the handicap.
