Sporting Braga B have suffered a miserable run of four league defeats on the trot with losses incurred against Cova Piedade, Varzim, Sporting Covilha and Vitoria Guimaraes B which has left the hosts in a disappointing 16th place in the Sugunda Liga.
The hosts are level on points with second from bottom club Arouca but have avoided the relegation zone by virtue of a slightly better goal difference, and they’ll no doubt be keen to get something from this match to put a gap between themselves and the bottom two.
Braga B’s home record stands at a disappointing 3-0-5 12/10 at their Estádio 1º de Maio ground which includes wins against Academico Viseu, Famalicao and a 6-1 demolition of Mafra, but they’ll be up against a mid-table Porto B side this afternoon.
Forwards Henry (4 goals) and Dias (3 goals) look to be Braga B’s best hopes here.

Porto’s second string side sit in 11th place on the Segunda Liga ladder although recent form has seen a significant improvement as the visitors head into this midweek clash on the back of a promising four-match sequence without defeat.
Recent wins against Academica, Pacos de Ferreira and Sporting Covilha along with a point against Benfica B will have been a welcome boost for Rui Barros’s side as they seek to keep their unbeaten run going today which would lift them up into the top half of the division.
However, as good as their recent form has been, the fact remains that Porto B have still only managed one away win all season to date within an overall record of 1-2-5 6/15 which was a notable 1-0 win away at Segunda Liga leaders, Pacos de Ferreira.
Whether this recent result on the road was a one-off or a sign of a revival of fortunes on their travels remains to be seen, but they’ll certainly take heart from this impressive result.
Forwards Macedo (5 goals) and Mouandilmadji (4 goals) represent Porto B’s main threats in front of goal here.
