Onto Aston Villa, and they secured what could prove to be a valuable point on Friday night when they held third placed Sheffield United to a 3-3 draw at Villa Park after being 3-0 down to The Blades.
Dean Smith’s boys showed remarkable character and resilience to claw their way back into the match to take a point as they looked dead and buried at one point. Smith will now be hoping they can continue this fighting spirit down to his old stomping ground, Griffin Park where he’ll be aiming to be public enemy number one with a win against his old club on Wednesday night.
The visitors have lost just once in their last seven matches overall in the Championship which was a heavy 3-0 loss at Wigan Athletic, but wins at Derby County, Middlesbrough and Swansea City have helped maintain Aston Villa’s push for a top six finish and a place in the play-offs.
