Next up is an all-London clash between Brentford and Millwall as the betting tips continue in the Championship at Griffin Park with both teams looking to pull themselves out of the bottom half of the division.
Brentford come into this encounter having failed to win any of their last eight league matches which includes defeats to Derby County, Bristol City, Preston North End and Norwich City – the latter three being on the trot in recent times.
However, the positive spin is that three of these four defeats were away from home, while at Griffin Park, The Bees still possess a solid record that stands at 4-2-1 14/6 with their one defeat being to Bristol City last time out at home. The hosts have picked up wins over Rotherham United, Sheffield Wednesday, Nottingham Forest and Wigan Athletic to date.
Brentford’s leading goalscorer, Neil Maupay, has hit 11 goals so far and is supported by Watkins (5 goals).
Millwall’s fortunes have certainly taken a turn for the better in recent weeks as Neil Harris’s side have picked up three wins from their last four overall with victories chalked up against Aston Villa, Wigan Athletic and Ipswich Town.
This improvement of form has helped lift The Lions away from immediate danger of slipping into the relegation zone and they now have a useful four-point cushion ahead of third from bottom club, Reading, as they make their way across London to face Brentford.
However, it must be pointed out that Millwall’s recent wins were all registered at the New Den, while their results away from home continue to slump; they’re still without an away win this season amidst an overall record of 0-2-5 4/12 which includes losing five of their last six on their travels.
