It’s an all-London affair next up in the Championship as Brentford take on QPR at Griffin Park on Saturday afternoon with the hosts looking to extend their unbeaten run to seven matches in the second tier.

At the start of this season, there were doubts as to how Brentford would fare given that they lost a couple of key players in midfielder Jota and defender Harlee Dean to Birmingham City, but The Bees have again shown their resilience this term and currently occupy 10th place on the league ladder.

Brentford have suffered just three defeats at home all season within a stubborn looking home record of  8-10-3  34/22, which includes taking points off Middlesbrough and Sheffield uNited as well as a 1-0 win over Ipswich Town.

QPR have had to endure a frustrating and inconsistent campaign so far in the Championship as Ian Holloway’s side sit in a bottom half position of 15th in the second tier, but recent wins over Aston Villa, Norwich City and Sheffield Wednesday have been offset by defeats to Reading, Hull City and Preston North End.

To make matters worse, QPR have lost five of their last seven on the road with losses incurred at Bristol City, Wolves, Sheffield United, Reading and Hull, while they possess a poor away record of  3-6-12  19/35 with only Bolton Wanderers winning fewer than The Hoops on the road this season.

In addition, QPR have kept just the one clean sheet on their travels all season, and with Brentford holding a solid record at Griffin Park, I believe the hosts will have the edge here this afternoon.
