Brentford Preview – Will the Bees get back to winning ways at home?

Brentford have been tipped by many to win the Championship this season. However, the Bees, who were losing play-off finalists last term, have made an indifferent start. Brentford are in tenth place at present, winning four, drawing three and losing three to take 15 points from ten games.

Thomas Frank’s men have lost just one of their past six, though two of their last three have ended in draws. Sandwiched in between a 3-0 victory over Luton Town at Kenilworth Road was two 1-1 home draws with Norwich City and Swansea City. The Bees failed to hold on to leads in both of those home games.

Our betting prediction:
Both teams to score
5/6

Brentford have settled into their new home comfortably. So far, only Preston North End, who have the best away record, have won on their patch. However, the London outfit will be looking for all three points on Saturday after two home draws on the spin.

Middlesbrough Preview – Can Boro stretch undefeated run to ten matches?

Neil Warnock’s Middlesbrough kicked off their season with a narrow 1-0 defeat to Watford at Vicarage Road. Since then, however, Boro are unbeaten in nine Championship games, winning four and drawing five.

Middlesbrough have been in excellent form of late, picking up three wins and battling to two draws in their previous five. After back-to-back home wins without conceding, Boro held free-scoring Blackburn Rovers to a 0-0 draw at Ewood Park last Tuesday.

Warnock’s men are sitting pretty in sixth place at present, racking up an impressive 17 points so far. This weekend’s fixture at the Brentford Community Stadium will be one of their toughest challenges yet, but can Boro extend their unbeaten run to ten?

Brentford vs Middlesbrough Betting Advice

Brentford have a good recent record in this fixture, winning each of the last three. The Bees did the double over the Teessiders last term, winning 1-0 at the Riverside Stadium and 3-2 at Griffin Park.

Key Facts – Brentford vs Middlesbrough Betting Tip

  • Middlesbrough have won just one of the last six meetings
  • Brentford edged a five-goal thriller at Griffin Park when the pair last met
  • Boro have been beaten just once in this season’s Championship

Middlesbrough have surprised many with their excellent start, but Warnock is as experienced as they come at this level, so it will be no shock to him. We fancy the club from North Yorkshire to leave London with a point. There is excellent value in the draw and both teams to score at 15/4.

Ivan Toney has been on fire for his new club, scoring ten goals in 12 appearances for the Bees since making the switch from Peterborough United in September. Toney has netted in three successive games, and the 24-year-old is priced at 7/2 to open the scoring in this one.
