Brentford Preview – Another easy home win for the in-form Bees?

Thomas Frank’s Brentford started their Championship season with a disappointing 1-0 loss to Aitor Karanka’s Birmingham City at St Andrew’s Trillion Trophy Stadium. However, in their first ever league match at their new home, the Bees thumped Huddersfield Town 3-0.

Having drawn 1-1 with Millwall at The Den last weekend, Frank’s troops will be looking to return to winning ways in the Championship this Sunday. Last Thursday, Brentford picked up an easy cup win on home turf, with Said Benrahma scoring twice to help the club to a 3-0 Carabao Cup victory over west London rivals Fulham.

Our betting prediction:
Brentford to win both halves
10/3

Since that defeat to Birmingham, Brentford have won four and drawn one of five league and cup fixtures. In the cup, they have beaten Premier League sides Southampton, West Bromwich Albion and Fulham. Overall, they have won five of seven in all competitions this season. Safe to say, their play-off heartache is well and truly behind them now.

Preston North End Preview – Lilywhites winless start to continue?

It has been a tough start for Alex Neil’s Preston North End, who have taken just one point from a possible nine thus far. North End started with a 1-0 home loss to Swansea City, and they were beaten at Deepdale by Stoke City by the same scoreline last weekend.

However, sandwiched in between those two home defeats was a decent draw with Daniel Farke’s Norwich City. The Lilywhites led twice at Carrow Road, but a late Przemyslaw Placheta goal rescued a point for the Canaries in the entertaining 2-2 draw.

Preston also sealed wins against Mansfield Town (4-0) and Derby County (2-1) in the Carabao Cup before losing to Premier League Brighton & Hove Albion in the third round.

This will no doubt be a tough one for Neil’s North End, but can Preston leave the capital with a positive result to show for their efforts?
