Brentford Preview – Bees’ unbeaten run to continue?

Brentford missed out on promotion in the Championship play-off final last season, losing to rivals Fulham at Wembley Stadium. Thomas Frank’s men would have loved to have avoided the play-offs altogether this term, but the Bees lost out on automatic promotion last week.

Brentford have been very strong all season, suffering only seven league defeats, which is the joint fewest in the division. Although they cannot catch either Norwich City or Watford, the London side will be hoping to finish in third place.

Our betting prediction:
Ivan Toney to score anytime

Brentford’s new home has been a fortress so far, with only Preston North End and Barnsley winning in their new ground in Championship action this season. Just Watford and Norwich have taken more home points.

Brentford have lost one game since February, though Frank’s troops have drawn six of their last nine. Can they follow up the midweek win over Rotherham United with another home victory on Saturday?

Watford Preview – Hornets to leave west London with a point?

Xisco Munoz has done a marvellous job at Vicarage Road since taking over in December. The Hornets hotseat can be a tough place to be, but the Spaniard hit the ground running in Hertfordshire and has never looked back.

Watford secured an instant return to the Premier League after a 1-0 win over Millwall last weekend. Since a 1-0 reverse at Bournemouth back in February, the Hornets have gone on to win nine of their following 11.

Watford have the best home record in the league, while their away form has drastically improved since Munoz’s arrival. Can they pick up all three points in west London this weekend?

Brentford vs Watford Betting Advice

These two evenly matched teams played out a 1-1 draw at Vicarage Road back in December. It was a tale of two penalties, with Ivan Toney’s cancelling out Troy Deeney’s.

Watford have a stunning record over the Bees in recent times, unbeaten since 1977. The Hornets have won 11 and drawn six of the last 17 meetings.

Key Facts – Brentford vs Watford Betting Tip

  • Brentford are unbeaten in ten, winning four and drawing six
  • Watford have won 13 of their last 16 Championship games
  • The Bees have not beaten the Hornets since 1977

Watford may have secured promotion already, but Munoz will want his side to win their last two and pip Norwich to the title. After Saturday’s meeting with Brentford, Watford’s season ends with a game against Steve Cooper’s Swansea City, who are also in the play-offs.

Brentford are not an easy nut to crack under Frank, especially in their new home. With that in mind, we fancy these two to cancel each other out in an entertaining stalemate on Saturday. You can get 7/2 for the draw and both teams to score.

The prolific Ivan Toney has been stuck on 29 Championship goals for four games. However, the Championship’s leading marksmen will be desperate to reach the 30-goal landmark in this one. Back Toney to score anytime here at evens.
