Brentford Preview – Bees to claim a big home victory?

Thomas Frank’s Brentford are in stunning form. Since a 3-2 loss at Stoke City in October, the Bees have won nine and drawn eight of 17 league games. Also, they have lost just one of their last 20 in the Championship.

Before last Wednesday’s battling draw with promotion rivals Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium, Brentford had secured successive league victories over Reading, Cardiff City, Bournemouth and Luton Town. The Bees have won five and drawn two of their previous seven league encounters.

Only league leaders Norwich City have picked up more away points, while just five teams have taken more points at home so far. Before last weekend’s Emirates FA Cup defeat to Premier League high-flyers Leicester City, the London side had won five league and cup home games on the spin. They should be too strong for the Championship’s bottom side on Saturday.

Wycombe Wanderers Preview – Ninth away loss for the Chairboys?

Since winning promotion to the Championship from EFL League One, Gareth Ainsworth’s Wycombe Wanderers have had a tough time in the second tier. The Chairboys currently prop up the Championship table, collecting a mere 15 points from 23 league games.

Wycombe have the worst away record in the league, winning just one of 11. They have already lost eight away Championship fixtures, conceding 21 goals in the process. Since their only away success, Wanderers have taken just two points from a possible 18 on the road.

Wycombe head to the Brentford Community Stadium having tasted just one league win since November 4th. Last time out in the Championship, Ainsworth’s boys lost 3-1 at Adams Park to Neil Warnock’s Middlesbrough. They look likely to lose again this weekend.

Brentford vs Wycombe Wanderers Betting Advice

These two teams have already met twice this season, with Wycombe doing a fine job in both matches. In the Carabao Cup back in early September, Brentford beat Wycombe on penalties after a 1-1 draw in normal time at the Brentford Community Stadium. In the reverse league fixture at Adams Park, the game ended in a 0-0 draw.

Key Facts – Brentford vs Wycombe Wanderers Betting Tip

  • This will be the third Brentford vs Wycombe meeting of the season
  • Brentford are unbeaten in the league since October
  • Wycombe have picked up just one Championship victory since early November

On paper, this should be a walk in the park for Brentford. The Chairboys have certainly given the Bees problems in the two meetings this term, but we can see nothing other than a routine home win in this one. Check out the tempting price of 9/4 for the hosts to win both halves.

Ivan Toney has been on fire for Brentford this season. So far, the 24-year-old has scored 16 Championship goals. After going five league games without a goal, Toney will be eager to get back on the scoresheet here. Take a punt on the Bees hitman to score two or more at 21/10.
