Brighton & Hove Albion Preview – Can the Seagulls get revenge from Saturday?

Graham Potter’s Brighton & Hove Albion have had a tough start to their Premier League season, playing Chelsea and Manchester United in two of their opening three. The Seagulls were beaten at home by both the Blues and the Red Devils.

However, sandwiched in between those two defeats at the Amex was an excellent victory at Newcastle United on matchday two. The Seagulls were superb at St James’ Park, with Neal Maupay scoring a brace and Aaron Connolly netting in a 3-0 win.

Our betting prediction:
Both teams to score

Brighton have cruised into round four of the Carabao Cup with two easy wins. Potter’s men thumped Portsmouth 4-0 at Amex in round two before goals from Alireza Jahanbakhsh and Alexis Mac Allister gave Brighton a 2-0 win over Preston North End at Deepdale in the third round.

Can Albion book their spot in the last eight of the Carabao Cup with a home victory on Wednesday?

Manchester United Preview – Red Devils to win at the Amex once again?

This will only be Manchester United’s fourth match of the 2020-21 season. It has been a mixed bag for the Red Devils so far, as they were beaten at home by Crystal Palace on the opening weekend of the Premier League season before securing back-to-back league and cup wins.

United were too strong for EFL Championship side Luton Town in the previous round. A Juan Mata penalty just before half time sent Ole’s boys on their way, with Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood scoring late goals to add gloss to the scoreline at Kenilworth Road. United then won 3-2 at Brighton in the league last weekend.

Only Liverpool and Manchester City have won more League Cups than Manchester United to date. The Red Devils last lifted this trophy in 2017, beating Southampton in a thrilling final at Wembley Stadium. Can they add a sixth EFL Cup to their glittering trophy cabinet this season?

These two teams were involved in an absolute thriller in the Premier League last weekend. Solly March’s injury-time goal looked to have recued a deserved point for Brighton, but the Red Devils won a penalty right at the death, which Bruno Fernandes calmly dispatched to give United a 3-2 win.
