This weekend sees the return of the Premier League following a brief hiatus due to the international break, but we’re back in full swing on Saturday with Brighton taking on Burnley as the betting tips continue at the AMEX Stadium.

Brighton Prediction – Can Brighton gain first home win?

A 3-0 win away at Watford saw Brighton make a promising start to their new Premier League campaign as The Seagulls simply blew away a poor Watford outfit who have since parted ways with former manager, Javi Gracia.

A hard earned point in a 1-1 draw at home with West Ham followed afterwards, but Graham Potter’s side have since slumped to back-to-back defeats to south coast rivals, Southampton, 2-0 at home and then a heavy 4-0 loss away at Manchester City.

The alarm bells may be turned up a notch if they suffer a third defeat on the trot this Saturday at home to Burnley, so Brighton will no doubt be keen to halt this slide in a match which they’ll fancy their chances of taking something out of.

However, the signs are admittedly not good for The Seagulls as they’ve managed just 1 win out of their last 11 matches at home which was a 1-0 win over relegated Huddersfield Town back in March.

Burnley Prediction – Can Burnley halt slide?

Burnley also headed into the international break on the back of a defeat when they lost 3-0 at home to a rampant Liverpool side who are enjoying an early spot at the top of the Premier League, while that loss now makes it 3 matches without a win for Sean Dyche’s men.

The visitors’ season has started in a similar vein to that of their hosts, Brighton, as The Clarets registered a win on the opening day of the season as they picked up 3 points in a 3-0 home win against Southampton.

Since then however, things have gone south (quite literally) as they suffered a 2-1 defeat away at Arsenal but grabbed a point in a 1-1 draw away at Wolves in the west midlands, before their heavy loss to Liverpool last time out.

With just 1 win out of their last 7 matches on their travels (a 3-1 win at Bournemouth), Burnley are no more guaranteed of all three points than their hosts, Brighton, and this could be a war of attrition down on the south coast.

Key-Facts – Brighton v Burnley

  • Brighton have won just 1 of their last 11 matches at home in the EPL
  • Burnley have won just 1 of their last 7 matches on their travels in the EPL
  • Burnley won the last encounter 3-1 away at Brighton but 5 of last 7 have been draws

Betting Tips Verdict

Neither side are in particularly good form at the moment but take the draw no bet on Brighton here as they’re a different outfit under Graham Potter.
