Brighton’s encouraging three-match run without defeat in the Premier League came to an end last weekend when they lost 1-0 away at Burnley, but The Seagulls now return to their AMEX Stadium this Sunday afternoon to prepare for the visit of fourth placed Chelsea.
A point against Leicester City in a 1-1 draw at home was followed by back-to-back wins for Chris Hughton’s side with wins over Huddersfield Town 2-1 (away) and a resounding 3-1 home win over Crystal Palace despite being reduced to 10 men for much of the match.
At home, Brighton hold a useful looking record of 4-2-1 12/8 which includes wins against Manchester United, West Ham, Wolves and Crystal Palace but their one match against the top four clubs ended in a 2-1 defeat to Tottenham.
Striker Glenn Murray (8 goals) is an injury doubt for Brighton.

Chelsea’s unpredictable streak continued last weekend but in a positive way for Maurizio Sarri’s men as they registered what could be a vital 2-0 win over Manchester City at Stamford Bridge so they’ll make their way down to the south coast on Sunday afternoon in confident mood.
Recent defeats at Tottenham and Wolves both away from home have dented Chelsea’s title ambitions though and despite the massive win over Manchester City they still trail Liverpool by 8 points and City by 7 points which are significant margins.
But, with the busy Christmas and New Year schedule almost upon us, Chelsea could reduce these margins even further, starting against Brighton today. The visitors possess an away record of 4-1-2 14/6 which includes wins at Huddersfield Town, Newcastle United, Southampton and Burnley.
Striker Morata is out injured, so Sarri is expected to start with the attacking trio of Pedro (5 goals), Giroud (1 goal) and Hazard (7 goals).
