BRIGHTON v CRYSTAL PALACE

Football – England – Premier League Betting Tips

The next fixture is by no means a local derby but encounters over recent years have seen Brighton and Crystal Palace generate a lively footballing rivalry and further betting tips for this clash follow…

There have been some intriguing clashes between these two clubs who have become bitter rivals, not least because current Brighton striker Glenn Murray was also on the books at Crystal Palace before returning to the south coast side.

Brighton did themselves a huge favour on Saturday by grabbing all three points in a 2-1 win away at Huddersfield Town which now gives them a useful and most welcome nine-point cushion ahead of third from bottom club, Southampton.

The Seagulls have been tough to beat at their AMEX Stadium so far this season as they hold an overall record of  3-2-1  9/7 which includes wins over Manchester United, West Ham and Wolves, while their only defeat this term was a 2-1 loss to fifth placed Tottenham.

Chris Hughton’s side have lost just 4 of their last 24 matches on home soil, and with leading goalscorer Glenn Murray (7 goals) returning to fitness, the hosts will be difficult to beat here I fancy.

Crystal Palace ended a miserable and worrying run of eight matches without a win in the Premier League on the weekend when they registered a vital three points with a 2-0 home win over Burnley which has eased their relegation fears for the time being.

Five defeats and three draws were starting to become a major concern for Roy Hodgson’s Crystal Palace side who, despite playing some attractive football, really struggled to find the back of the net. Wilfred Zaha (3 goals) is the London club’s leading goalscorer and he’s been operating alongside makeshift forward Andros Townsend who has replaced the injured Cristian Benteke.

The visitors possess an average looking away record of  2-1-4  6/9 which includes three defeats from their last four on the road with losses at Bournemouth, Everton and Chelsea, but they did gain a worthy point in a 0-0 stalemate at Old Trafford against Manchester United.

The recent win over Burnley should give Crystal Palace a welcome boost and my betting tips suggest this could end up a draw here.
