Brighton Prediction

Brighton have slowly slipped down the top flight table to 16th place in the Premier League due to a spate of disappointing results which have seen Brighton lose five of their last six matches, but Chris Hughton’s side have a great opportunity to turn things around when basement dwellers Huddersfield Town come down to the south coast today.

Defeats to Liverpool, Manchester United, Fulham, Burnley and Leicester City have thrown Brighton back into the relegation mix as the south coast club are now just two points above the bottom three, and level on points with Southampton.

Brighton possess a home record of 5-4-4 16/15 which looks reasonable enough but The Seagulls have lost two of their last three at home and have picked up just one point from their last three games at the AMEX Stadium which was thanks to a 0-0 draw with Watford.

A lack of goals has perhaps held Brighton back and prevented them from climbing the table, but their talismanic striker Glenn Murray (10 goals) should hit the goal trail again here I fancy.

Key-Facts – Brighton v Huddersfield Town

  • Brighton have lost 5 of their last 6 matches in the top flight
  • Huddersfield have won just once away from home all season
  • Huddersfield have failed to score in each of their last 4 away matches

Huddersfield Town Prediction

Huddersfield Town still sit rock bottom of the Premier League despite their midweek 1-0 home win over Wolves which handed new manager Jan Siewert his first league win with The Terriers since he replaced former manager, David Wagner.

Prior to their desperately needed win against Wolves though, Huddersfield had gone a previous 14 matches without a win in the Premier League, losing 13 of these which has left the Yorkshire club in dire straits at the bottom of the division.

Huddersfield have registered just three league wins all season to date, two of which have been recorded at their John Smith’s Stadium, while the visitors have gained just the solitary one win on the road which was a 2-0 win away at Wolves, as Huddersfield have done the ‘double’ over the west midlands club.

However, that’s been their only highlight in what has been an extremely difficult campaign amidst a poor away record of 1-3-9 8/28 which has been punctuated by a severe lack of goals.

If the goals have dripped for Brighton, then Huddersfield are experiencing a drought in goalscoring terms as the visitors have failed to score in 6 of their 13 away matches to date, including failing to hit the back of the net in each of their last four matches on the road.

Betting Tips Verdict

Brighton hold home advantage here and should nick the points here, but don’t expect many goals in what could be more a war of attrition.
