Brighton Prediction – Can Brighton bounce back?
Following a 2-1 defeat in the west midlands against Aston Villa last Saturday, Brighton will no doubt be keen to return to the south coast for this upcoming clash against a struggling Everton outfit when the teams face-off at the AMEX Stadium this Saturday afternoon.
Last time out on home turf, Brighton registered a resounding 3-0 win over an out of sorts Tottenham side which gave Brighton manager, Graham Potter, and players and fans alike, a massive boost after The Seagulls had failed to win any of their previous 6 matches in the top flight.
Recent defeats to Southampton, Manchester City and Chelsea had threatened to drag Brighton down into the relegation zone, but the victory against Tottenham will have instilled new-found belief in the Brighton camp and they’ll fancy their chances of getting something against Everton here.
Brighton possess a reasonable home record to date of 1-2-1 5/4 which also includes points gained in draws with West Ham and Burnley, both in 1-1 draws, while forwards Maupay (3 goals) and Connolly (2 goals) look set to lead the line again for The Seagulls.
Everton Prediction – Can Everton claim back-to-back wins?
A 2-0 home win over West Ham was the perfect tonic for this out of sorts Everton outfit last weekend which also eased the pressure slightly on Toffees manager, Marco Silva, following a wretched run of 4 defeats on the trot.
Previous losses to Bournemouth, Sheffield United, Manchester City and Burnley were tough to take especially as, with the exception of Manchester City, these were matches which Everton would have felt they stood a good chance of winning.
Instead, losing all 4 matches cranked the pressure up significantly so the West Ham win was crucial, but they now have to back that result up when they make their way down to the south coast to take on a stubborn Brighton outfit but one that also presents goal threats from Maupay etc.
Everton also have yet to record an away win so far this season as they possess a poor looking record of 0-1-3 1/6 and another defeat at Brighton could see the pressure gauges rise again on the visitors.
