Brisbane Roar Prediction

Brisbane Roar have dramatically fallen from grace as the Queensland outfit now sit second from bottom in the Australian top flight and a huge 17 points adrift of the finals play-offs spots, so we can safely say that Friday night’s hosts won’t figure in any further action once the regular season has been done and dusted.

The Roar have done anything but so far this season as they’ve gained just one league win throughout this miserable campaign which was a 2-0 home win against Melbourne City all the way back in November, but 12 matches on and the hosts are still waiting to register a second win of the season.

This wretched run of matches have seen Brisbane lose 9 of these 12 matches, and even with home advantage on Friday night, their record at Suncorp Stadium stands at a poor 1-3-3 9/16 having lost three of their last four on home turf.

Key-Facts – Brisbane Roar v Sydney FC

  • Brisbane Roar have gone 12 league matches without a win
  • Brisbane Roar have lost 3 of their last 4 at home in the A-League
  • Sydney have won 4 of their last 6 matches on the road

Sydney FC Prediction

Sydney bounced back from their recent 2-1 defeat away at Melbourne Victory with a 2-1 win over Victory’s rivals, Melbourne City in last weekend’s win at their WIN Jubilee Stadium, but the visitors know they can’t afford another slip-up in Brisbane on Friday night.

Sydney still trail A-League leaders Perth Glory by five points but will have their sights set on hi-jacking second spot over Melbourne Victory with all three points against a toothless Brisbane Roar outfit, and with a reasonable away record of 5-2-2 15/10, the ball is well and truly in Sydney’s court to steal a march on their play-offs rivals here.

Sydney make their way up north with four wins from their last six matches, and although they’ve lost two recent away matches at Perth Glory and Melbourne Victory, these two are the top two clubs in the division at the moment.

The visitors will be boosted by the return of forward Brosque (6 goals) and midfielder Zullo while new signing Ghoochannejhad will further bolster an attack that will be led by leading goalscorer Le Fondre (12 goals).

Betting Tips Verdict

Brisbane Roar’s woes continue but Sydney know they can’t afford to slip up here. Returning and new players along with Le Fondre should account for Brisbane here.
