Bristol City Prediction

Bristol City slumped to a third defeat in four matches on Saturday when they lost 1-0 at home to Leeds United in what was a particularly sluggish performance from The Robins who are wobbling at just the wrong time of the season.

Earlier defeats to Norwich City and Birmingham City have resulted in Bristol City finally surrendering 6th place in the Championship, with their place being taken by Derby County, so the hosts will be desperate to return to winning ways and reclaim their play-off spot at the expense of poor Ipswich Town.

To make matters worse, two of the three recent losses were at Ashton Gate where The Robins have posted a fairly average looking record now of 7-5-6 21/18 and have lost their last two home matches on the trot.

However, they have a golden opportunity to grab a much needed three points on Tuesday night when the basement dwellers, Ipswich Town, come to visit, and having previously put together a four-match winning streak as well as recording a 3-2 win away at Ipswich Town back in November.

Key-Facts – Bristol City v Ipswich Town

  • Bristol City have lost 3 of their last 4 matches overall in the Championship
  • Bristol City have won the last 3 meetings against Ipswich Town
  • Ipswich Town have gone 12 away matches without a win in the second tier

Ipswich Town Prediction

Ipswich Town grabbed a useful point on the weekend when they held West Brom to a 1-1 draw at The Hawthorns but Ipswich really need all three points in order to assist what would be an incredible escape from relegation as the Tractor Boys find themselves 12 points adrift of safety with just 10 league matches of the season remaining.

Paul Lambert’s side have shown a slight improvement from earlier in his tenure where defeats were flowing, but they’ve plugged the leaks somewhat in recent weeks as the visitors have drawn four of their last five matches overall in the Championship.

Draws are not enough now though, and along with a poor away record of 1-4-13 11/36 on their travels as well as going 12 matches without a win on the road, the rot has well and truly set in amongst the Ipswich camp and their best chances here appear to be to try and get a point.

However, as mentioned in the key facts, Ipswich have lost the last three meetings against Bristol City and the odds are firmly stacked against them again here this evening.

Betting Tips Verdict

Bristol City desperately need to get back on the winning trail here, and they won’t get a better chance than against a very poor Ipswich Town outfit.
