Sunday’s offering in the Championship sees a lunchtime clash between Bristol City and Millwall as the betting tips continue at Ashton Gate.
Bristol City put an end to what was becoming a worrying four-match losing streak during the week when they grabbed all three points with a 3-2 win away at beleaguered Ipswich Town, coming from behind to take the spoils.
The Robins had previously endured defeats to Stoke City, Reading, Preston North End and Leeds United, but the midweek win should give the hosts confidence of making it back-to-back wins at Ashton Gate on Sunday.
Bristol City’s home record also requires further attention at 3-2-4 9/9 particularly having registered just one win from their last five on home turf. Forwards Weimann (5 goals) and Diedhiou (4 goals) look the most likely for the home side.
Millwall were handed a third defeat in four matches during the week when they lost 2-0 at home to Birmingham City which followed previous defeats to Brentford and Norwich City. This losing sequence has resulted in Millwall occupying one league position above the bottom three but level on points with both third and second from bottom clubs, Hull City and Bolton Wanderers respectively.
The story gets worse for Millwall when looking at their results away from home as The Lions are still without an away win this season with a poor record of 0-2-7 7/18 ahead of their trip to the west country this Sunday.
Only Blackburn Rovers and Wigan Athletic (19 goals apiece) have conceded more away goals than Millwall so far in the Championship this season, and their leaky defence could be the difference between these two sides today.
