Bristol City Preview – Will the Robins suffer a fourth straight home loss?

Bristol City have had a fine seven days or so, securing two vital victories. Paul Simpson took charge of City’s impressive 3-1 win at Middlesbrough, while new boss Nigel Pearson watched on from the stands.

Pearson was in the dugout at the Liberty Stadium last weekend. Swansea City are fighting for automatic promotion, but Bristol City left South Wales with a deserved 3-1 victory thanks to goals from Nahki Wells, Kasey Palmer and Antoine Semenyo.

Our betting prediction:
Both teams to score – No

Prior to those back-to-back 3-1 away wins, Bristol City had lost seven in a row in all competitions under Dean Holden, who was sacked after a 1-0 home defeat to Barnsley on 20th February.

All of a sudden, the Robins are beginning to look much more like the team who started the season so well. Can they make it three wins on the trot with three points on home soil this Wednesday?

Bournemouth Preview – Cherries to pick up first away league win in two months?

Bournemouth have been in patchy form of late, picking up just three wins from their previous 11 Championship matches. However, after back-to-back 2-1 defeats to Queens Park Rangers and Cardiff City, the Cherries picked up a massive three points last time out.

Bournemouth fired themselves back into the top six after a hard-fought 1-0 win over fellow promotion hopefuls Watford last Saturday. In an ill-tempered affair at the Vitality Stadium, Arnaut Groeneveld’s goal just after the hour mark won the points for Bournemouth.

Bournemouth have struggled away from the Vitality in recent months. In fact, their last win on the road in the Championship was a 1-0 success at Stoke City on 2nd January. Will they put things right in midweek?

Bristol City vs Bournemouth Betting Advice

There was not a lot split the pair when they met at the Vitality Stadium earlier in the season. Arnaut Groeneveld netted late on to give the Cherries a 1-0 win. That was the first league meeting between Bristol City and Bournemouth since a 2-2 EFL League One draw way back in December ’06.

Key Facts – Bristol City vs Bournemouth Betting Tip

  • Bristol City have won two in a row
  • Bournemouth have not won away from home in the league since 2nd January
  • The Robins have lost three home games on the bounce

Bristol City have looked like a completely different team in their last two. However, the Robins have struggled on their own patch lately, losing three in a row. We can see Bournemouth following up the win over Watford with another vital victory on Wednesday. The away win is priced at 17/20.

As we touched on, Arnaut Groeneveld scored the only goal of the game in the reverse matchup back in October. The 24-year-old was also on target in Saturday’s 1-0 triumph over the Hornets. Back Danjuma to score anytime in this one at 11/4.
