Two sides with Premier League dreams meet at Ashton Gate in Saturday’s early kick off in the EFL Championship, as Bristol City host Fulham. The Robins will be looking for their first win in five, but I’m tipping this to be a tight and tense fixture in Bristol. Will we see a winner at Ashton Gate?

Bristol City Preview – Can the Robins claim a first win in five?
Bristol City’s play-off hopes have been dealt a blow in recent weeks, with the Robins failing to win any of their last four. Before drawing 1-1 with Millwall at Ashton Gate last weekend, the Robins suffered successive defeats to Leeds United, West Bromwich Albion and Huddersfield Town. City have lost four of their previous six in the Championship.
Despite their poor form of late, Bristol City are still very much in the mix for promotion. Ahead of this weekend’s fixtures, Lee Johnson’s men are only two points behind sixth place. The Robins have certainly blown hot and cold this term, winning 15, losing 12 and drawing nine.
Only West Brom, Leeds and Nottingham Forest – who are all currently in the top four – have picked up more away points than Bristol City so far. However, they have struggled at home, winning just seven of 17. Saturday’s game against in-form Fulham will be another stern test at Ashton Gate for Bristol City.
Fulham Preview – Will the in-form Cottagers leave Bristol with all three points?
Fulham have got their automatic promotion bid back on track with back-to-back wins over Swansea City and Preston North End, with the Cottagers keeping clean sheet in both of those home matches. In recent weeks, Scott Parker’s troops have won four of their last seven in league action, with just one of those ending in defeat.
Since a shock 3-0 home reverse to relegation threatened Barnsley last month, the Cottagers have struck back by taking seven points from a possible nine. However, with West Brom and Leeds also in good form, Fulham remain five points behind the top two at the time of writing.

No side in England’s second tier have picked up more home points than Fulham, while the Cottagers have also been decent on the road in the Championship this season. The London outfit have taken a respectable 25 away points from 17 matches.
After one unsuccessful campaign in the top flight, Fulham have unfinished business with the Premier League. They will send out a real signal of intent to their promotion rivals with three points at Ashton Gate at the weekend.
