Bristol have played their way into contention for a top-four finish this season and this is the kind of game in which they won’t want to take their eye off of the ball. They are hosting a struggling Worcester side who are the lowest-scoring team in the division.

The Bears can deliver a comfortable home win

This is a good fixture for the Bears right now. After round 10 they were sat in fourth place in a tight race for a top-four finish.

They are only carrying a +3 points difference for the season and of the top six in the table after the last round of action, had the worst defensive record.

But as long as the points keep coming, that won’t matter to them.

Bristol have won their last two league games and they were tough ones as well. In their last home game, they took a 34-16 win over Gloucester before battling to an absolutely superb 20-14 away win at Northampton.

That was after the Bears had been down 11-0 at half time against Northampton. So they showed some class and character at Franklin’s Gardens to fight back, second-half tries from Henry Purdy and Lewis Thiede getting them home.

Our betting prediction:
Bristl 8-14 winning margin
5/2

Bristol, who have England prop Kyle Sinckler joining them next season are on a three-match losing streak against Worcester in the Premiership.

Their most recent meeting was in March last year, with the Bears suffering a 25-27 home loss. They have, however, won two of their last three league home games against them.

In all competitions, Bristol are now W3 D1 in their last four games. They should have enough to get past Worcester.

Warriors may not lay a glove on Bristol

Worcester are on a W4 L6 record for the season. After the last round of action, they only had tallied 174 points for the season, the lowest of all teams in the Premiership.

There were only two teams who had conceded more points than they had done as well at the end of the previous round. Worcester are the only team in this season’s Premiership to have not collected a single try bonus point.

Worcester have lost their last three Premiership matches and so are well out of form. They haven’t won out on their travels since March of last year when they squeezed out a narrow win at Harlequins.

But then they do have a decent head to head against Bristol. The Warriors have suffered just one of their last seven against the Bears across all competitions. Their last win at Ashton Gate was in 2016 on Boxing Day.

Bristol vs Worcester Betting Advice

Bristol have only suffered one defeat on home soil since March 2019. They are ticking along very nicely and the confidence and self-belief that they will have taken from their second-half comeback at second-placed Northampton last time you should drive them even more.

Key Facts – Bristol vs Worcester Betting Tip

  • Bristol have won their last three Premiership games
  • Bristol have lost once at home since March last year
  • Worcester haven’t won away since March 2019

It is a four-match unbeaten streak of form from Bristol in all competitions and with the lack of attacking threat from Worcester, this Ashton Gate fixture looks to be something of a foregone conclusion. The Bears can cover a -12 handicap.
