Bromley Preview – Can Bromley make new start?
Tuesday night will be Bromley’s first match of this new National League season as they prepare for the visit of fellow Kent outfit, Dover Athletic, with the hosts no doubt keen to put their dismal end of season run-in last term behind them here.
Bromley failed to win any of their final nine matches of their non-league top flight campaign last term which included seven defeats but the hosts have reason to be fairly confident of returning to winning ways against Dover in this upcoming clash on Tuesday night.
Although Bromley were handed a 3-0 defeat away from home at Dover on Boxing Day, the hosts bounced back in the return fixture on New Years Day by inflicting the same scoreline upon Dover at Hayes Lane shortly afterwards, and they’re unbeaten in their last four meetings at home against Dover, winning two and drawing two.
Dover Athletic Preview – Can Dover continue winning start?
Dover Athletic made a promising start to the new National League season and raised a few eyebrows in the process when they registered a 1-0 home win over pre-season promotion favourites, Notts County, at their Perrys Crabble Stadium on Saturday.
The visitors had also produced a disappointing finish to last season’s National League campaign as they picked up just one win from their final five matches of the campaign which came in the shape of a heavy 5-1 victory over AFC Fylde at home, but they’d also suffered defeats against Solihull Moors and Yeovil Town in the run-in to last term.
After producing an impressive six-match winning streak on the road in the non-league top flight from mid-April to end of August, Dover were unable to sustain that kind of form on the road and they ended up winning just one of their last six away matches.
