A title challenge was always likely to be a big ask for Brondby but there will be a sense of disappointment that they are only fourth and a full 25 points behind leaders Midtjylland. They’re even seven points adrift of AGF in third and 16 inferior to their rivals and opponents on Sunday. It’s not been the season that Niels Frederiksen would have been hoping for in his first year in charge.
The aim for Brondby is now to clinch the Europa League playoff spot which is by no means a certainty with a two point difference between themselves and Nordsjaelland.

It’s going to have to be a virtually flawless end to the season for Copenhagen to have any chance of winning the title and that includes winning here. It’s been their away form which has badly let them down, though. They have won just three of their last 10 games on the road in the Danish Superliga.
The surprising thing about Copenhagen’s season is they have scored six more goals than the leaders but conceded 16 more at the same time. It’s not records you would normally associated with a Solbakken team.
