Bulgaria – Can Bulgaria challenge Czech Republic for 2nd spot?
Bulgaria have started their Euro 2020 campaign in slow fashion as they were held to two draws in both of their opening group matches with stalemates against Montenegro and Kosovo in 1-1 draws, while a 2-1 defeat away at Czech Republic followed last time out, so Bulgaria will be wanting to make the most of home advantage on Monday night.
The hosts have lost just 2 of their last 10 matches overall in all competitions which were losses away at Norway and the aforementioned defeat at Czech Republic, but four wins over Kazakhstan, Slovenia, Norway and Cyprus have been followed by four draws with Cyprus, Slovenia, Montenegro and Kosovo.
Bulgaria have therefore proved to be stubborn opponents in recent times and on home turf they’ve continued in that same vein as they’ve suffered just 2 defeats out of their last 13 matches on home soil in all competitions.
Those losses came in the shape of defeats to France and Bosnia-Herzegovina, both by 1-0 margins, but they should come away with something from this clash against Kosovo given their recent solid results.

Kosovo have also been a team that been hard to beat in recent times as the visitors bring a 13-match unbeaten sequence into this third match of their Euro 2020 campaign, so they’ll fancy their chances of grabbing at least a point here if recent performances are anything to go by.
Within this recent run, Kosovo have gained 8 wins with the most notable victories including wins against Albania and Azerbaijan, but overall it must be said that they’ve faced teams of lesser stature than Monday night’s opponents, Bulgaria.
