Burnley Prediction

Burnley will be feeling a whole lot better about themselves after recording back-to-back wins in the Premier League against West Ham and Huddersfield Town respectively, and these recent victories have lifted Burnley out of the relegation zone for the time being.

Sean Dyche’s team now turn their attentions to the FA Cup where they stand a reasonable chance of progressing through the early rounds depending on the draw they get, and of course assuming they come out of this one unscathed.

Home form in the Premier League have seen The Clarets win two of their last three at Turf Moor with wins over Brighton and West Ham and with depth in their attacking ranks with the likes of Barnes, Wood, Vokes and Vydra, the hosts should stand a very good chance of progressing into the 4th round.

Midfielder Brady is suspended for this match after his red card against Huddersfield Town.

Barnsley Prediction

Barnsley currently occupy a place in the League One play-off pack as The Tykes sit in 4th place in the third tier thanks to a recent upturn in results which have seen the visitors put together a five match unbeaten run ahead of this cup tie against Burnley.

Recent wins over Blackpool, Peterborough United and Charlton Athletic have helped maintain Barnsley’s claims for a place in the play-offs, although two of these wins were recorded at their Oakwell ground.

Barnsley’s results away from home are less consistent though as they’ve picked up wins at Southend United and Blackpool but have also lost at Sunderland and Wycombe Wanderers, and news from the Barnsley camp suggests that their leading goalscorer Kieffer Moore (11 goals) may not feature in this clash.

The Barnsley striker is suffering illness and may have to face a late fitness test before the game and manager Daniel Stendel may not risk him with the club entertaining serious play-off ambitions.

Betting Tips Verdict

Burnley’s confidence has received a massive boost in recent times and even if Moore does feature for Barnsley, he’s unlikely to be firing on all cylinders. This should be a home win for Burnley here.
