Bury come into this clash having put together a four match unbeaten run which has helped lift them up into 9th place and just two points adrift of the play-off pack ahead of this Saturday’s action. Notts County have made a significant revival under new manager Harry Kewell who replaced former boss, Kevin Nolan after The Magpies started the season in disastrous fashion – the visitors lost five of their first six matches of the new League Two season.
Since Kewell’s appointment, County have lost just once in their subsequent six matches which was a heavy 5-1 loss away at Exeter City but they’ve since steadied the ship with draws against Stevenage and Northampton Town along with winning their last three on the trot with wins over Crewe Alexandra, Kewell’s former club Crawley Town and Macclesfield Town.
However, an away record of 1-1-4 7/14 indicates there’s still a lot of work to do despite The Magpies climbing out of the relegation zone, and this trip to Bury will be a good yardstick as to how far they’ve come.
