Cardiff City Prediction

Let’s take a look at Cardiff City first though, and The Bluebirds continued their pattern of losing away from home last weekend when they lost 3-2 at Watford which became Cardiff’s sixth straight defeat on the road, but having won four of their last five at home, Cardiff will be relishing a return to their Cardiff City Stadium this evening.

Recent home wins over Fulham, Brighton, Wolves and Southampton were all games in which Cardiff stood a realistic chance of getting something from and they’ve grabbed their opportunities in impressive fashion.

Cardiff’s home record now stands at a more acceptable looking 4-1-4 12/15 but they face a Manchester United side who are in real danger of slipping out of the top six and their pride is hurt. Goals have come from makeshift striker Paterson (4 goals) and attacking midfielder Murphy (3 goals) so far for the hosts.

Manchester United Prediction

Following their 3-1 loss to Liverpool last Sunday, Manchester United sacked former manager Jose Mourinho a few days later and have installed former player Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as caretaker-manager until the end of the season.

Solskjaer was the former manager of Cardiff City in their last campaign in the Premier League, so it’ll be interesting to see what kind of reception he’ll receive in the Welsh capital on Saturday evening. One thing’s for certain, Manchester United desperately need all three points here in order to restore some pride and make a start to gather some much needed momentum.

Prior to the defeat to Liverpool, United had put together a four match run without defeat which included draws with Crystal Palace, Southampton and Arsenal along with a 4-1 home win over bottom club Fulham.

However, decisive defeats to Tottenham, Manchester City and Liverpool were too much for the United board to tolerate, and Mourinho was shown the door.

United’s away record reads a disappointing 3-2-4 15/18 which includes losing two of their last three on their travels, but midfielder Pogba (3 goals, 3 assists) and forward and leading goalscorer Martial (7 goals) are expected to return to the visitor’s line-up today.

Betting Tips Verdict

Cardiff City have won their recent winnable matches but they’ll face a tough assignment against Manchester United here – United to win in this one to give Solskjaer the perfect start to his tenure at Old Trafford.
