Cardiff City made a promising start to the season under Mick McCarthy, but things went horribly wrong for the Welsh club at the end of his tenure. The Bluebirds lost eight in a row and McCarthy was sacked.
Steve Morison initially took over the role on an interim basis, guiding Cardiff to four points from three games. He was given the job full time during the last international break, and the Bluebirds returned to action with a 2-1 win at Preston North End.
Cardiff lost their last home game to in-form Queens Park Rangers but bounced back with a hard-fought 2-1 win at Luton Town last weekend. Can the league’s worst home team back that up with another three points on Saturday?
Sheffield United Preview – Can the Blades make it three wins in a row?
Slavisa Jokanovic was brought to Bramall Lane in the summer to take Sheffield United back into the Premier League at the first time of asking. However, Jokanovic left his role last month after securing just six Championship wins.
Paul Heckingbottom is back in the Bramall Lane dugout, and the 44-year-old started with a win last weekend. Goals from Rhian Brewster and Billy Sharp earned United a 2-0 home victory against Bristol City.
