Ceara Preview – Can Ceara make use of home advantage?

A mixed start to this new Brazilian top flight season has produced a win, draw and loss for Thursday’s hosts, Ceara, as they sit in a mid-table position of 10th place and level on points with their visitors, Bahia.

An opening day 3-2 home win against Gremio gave Ceara a winning start to the new campaign but they’ve since been pegged back with a 3-1 loss away from home at Santos and a point in a 0-0 draw on the road at Chapecoense.

Results on home soil have also eluded Ceara for the most part as the hosts have managed to win just three of their last 11 matches at home in Serie A.

 

 

Bahia Preview – Can Bahia bounce back?

Bahia sit in 9th place in the early Serie A standings thanks to a solid start to the new season which saw Bahia register a convincing 3-0 home win over Santos which was followed by a useful point on the road in a 3-3 draw at Bragantino, but they too have been pegged back after a recent 1-0 defeat at home to Internacional.

Prior to that loss to Internacional, Bahia had put together a decent six-match unbeaten run which consisted of wins against Fortaleza and Santos (twice) along with three draws, and another draw may seem likely in this upcoming trip to Ceara.

Bahia are unbeaten in their last four away matches in Serie A, drawing three of these games, so another stalemate could be on the cards here.
