Neither Celta or Levante are in great form at the moment so will be keen to get three points here as they bid to end their campaigns in positive fashion.

Celta Vigo Preview – Can Celta keep their potential European hopes alive with another home win?

There is still an outside chance that Celta could sneak into Europe by finishing seventh but also depending on who wins the Europa League. If Villareal are able to win their first major trophy then eighth spot in La Liga could well mean European football. That definitely brings Celta into equation who are currently in 10th place and just a point behind Granada.

Celta got back to winning ways last time out when beating Osasuna 2-1 – their first home win since the middle of February (two draws, two defeats since). It means they are eight points behind Villareal in seventh and essentially having to win every game if they are to guarantee a Europa League place finish.

Bigger picture wise it’s been a much better campaign for Celta. Having avoided relegation by just one point last season, to be comfortable in mid-table with an outside chance of a top seven finish is significant improvement and testament to the work that Eduardo Coudet has done since taking charge towards the end of last year.

Remarkably Celta have lost six home games this season and they’ve all come against teams who are currently in the top seven. It shows how consistent they have been against teams below that so they will be hopeful of getting another three home points.

Levante Preview – Will Levante bounce back to form with another away day special?

The first objective for Levante each and every season is survival so despite some recent disappointments, they too can look back on this season with a sense of achievement as they have rarely been bothered by events at the bottom of La Liga. With five games to go they sit in 12th spot and eight points clear of the relegation zone. There will be some who say they need another win but it’s unlikely they are in serious bother.

That’s despite a run of matches which have seen them lose five of their last six.

If you take it back further, Levante’s form since the middle of January has actually been poor with three wins in 16 matches. Considering they sit in mid-table it shows how well they done in the first half of the season and clearly that’s something they were unable to sustain. Which is no surprise with the squad of players and resources they;re working with.

The undoubted highlights of Levante’s season is their wins in Madrid against Real and Atletico. They came in back-to-back away games and give you an indication of just how good and capable they are on their day.

Celta Vigo vs Levante Betting Advice

Whilst neither team are in great form they have both shown how capable they are at various points throughout the season. Levante have troubled and beaten the best that La Liga has to offer whilst Celta continue to be hard to beat on their own turf, particularly dominant against teams outside the top seven.

Nothing separated the teams when they met earlier in the campaign, that match ending 1-1. That was the sixth straight match where both teams have scored in this fixture.

Key Facts – Celta Vigo vs Levante Betting Tip

  • Celta returned to winning ways at home last time out, beating Osasuna 2-1
  • Levante have lost six of their last seven but have beaten both Madrid giants on their travels
  • It was a 1-1 draw earlier in the season, a sixth straight meeting between the sides where both have scored

That’s a trend I can see continuing here as six of Celta’s last seven at home have had both team scoring and an they typically play an expansive style which will suit Levante’s counter-attacking approach.
