Central Coast Mariners Prediction

Central Coast Mariners currently occupy bottom spot in the A-League with just 2 points to their name prior to Monday night’s fixture against high-flying Perth Glory at their Central Coast Stadium in Gosford.

The hosts are in a woeful state at the moment as they’ve lost their last seven league matches on the trot and indeed, have earned just 2 points from a possible 27 on offer so far this season. This seven-match losing streak has seen Central Coast concede a total of 18 goals and score just 5 in reply in what has been a disastrous campaign to date.

Two early draws against Brisbane Roar and Melbourne City gave Central Coast a reasonable start to the new A-League season but the wheels have well and truly fallen off since. The Mariners possess a disappointing home record of 0-1-3 3/8 which includes defeats to Adelaide United, Sydney and local rivals Newcastle Jets so far.

Central Coast have managed just one home win from their last 12 on home turf.

Perth Glory Prediction

In stark contrast, Perth Glory are joint top of the A-League with Melbourne Victory and Sydney FC who are all on 20 points apiece, although Perth lost last time out when they went down 2-1 at home to Sydney FC just before Christmas.

The visitors will no doubt be keen to bounce back with all three points here and will fancy their chances of grabbing at least a point against a decidedly lacklustre Central Coast Mariners outfit who are really struggling for results at the moment.

The recent loss to Sydney FC is Perth Glory’s only defeat to date in this season’s A-League as the visitors had previously strung together an impressive eight-match run without defeat to start their new season off in style.

Perth still remain unbeaten away from home though with a record of 3-1-0 8/3 which is the exact opposite record to that of their hosts, Central Coast Mariners, and includes wins at Melbourne Victory, Adelaide United and F1 rivals, Newcastle Jets.

Midfielder Ikonomides (6 goals) and former Wolves and Millwall striker Keogh (4 goals) have provided the bulk of the goals for Perth Glory this season.

Betting Tips Verdict

Central Coast are in disarray while Perth Glory have produced some impressive results this season.
