Central Coast Prediction – Can Central Coast win back-to-back?

Central Coast’s inconsistent start to the new Australian A-League campaign continued on Sunday when they registered a 2-1 home win against Adelaide United which came on the back of two league defeats on the trot.

Recent defeats to Brisbane Roar 2-0 away and a 1-0 loss on the road at Sydney FC were perhaps expected, but The Mariners quickly bounced back with all three points last time out, and this will give Tuesday night’s hosts plenty of confidence as they prepare for the visit of 4th placed Perth Glory.

After a slow start to the season on home turf at their Central Coast Stadium following a 1-1 draw with Newcastle Jets and a 3-1 defeat to Adelaide United, Central Coast Mariners have since recovered with a 1-0 win over new franchise club, Western United and the aforementioned 2-1 victory over Adelaide United which quickly avenged their earlier defeat in the season.

As the season is still settling down, it may be prudent to steer away from straight winners but 3 of Central Coast’s 4 home matches have seen both teams score, while 12 of their last 15 matches at home have also seen both teams hit the back of the net.

Perth Glory Prediction – Can Perth win four on the trot?

After making a slow and sluggish start to the new A-League season, 4th placed Perth Glory are also starting to pick up the pace as they make their way over to the Central Coast looking for a fourth league win on the trot.

Tony Popovic’s side managed to collect just 1 win out of their opening 7 matches of the new season down under, which was a 2-1 win away from home at New Zealand outfit Wellington Phoenix, but 3 defeats within this opening 7-match period wasn’t the best start for Perth.

However, The Glory have lived up to their name in recent weeks as they’ve bounced back in emphatic fashion, winning their last three matches on the trot with wins against Melbourne City 3-0 away and back-to-back home wins over Western Sydney Wanderers 2-0 and a 6-2 thrashing of Newcastle Jets.

Perth have also done quite well on the road too as they’ve lost just 1 of their opening 5 matches and 3 of Perth Glory’s 5 matches have also seen both teams score.
