It’s been a bit of a frustrating start to the season for Charlton Athletic as The Addicks have won two, drawn two and lost twice so far this term, but with the visit of Wycombe Wanderers this Saturday, it represents a great chance for the hosts to lift themselves closer to the top six.
Despite their ordinary start to the new campaign, Charlton have improved of late as they come into this clash having suffered just one defeat from their last five matches which was a 1-0 loss to in-form Peterborough United, but recent wins over Shrewsbury Town at home and last week’s away win at Southend United should see a confident Charlton here.
League Two newcomers Wycombe Wanderers have managed to earn just one win from their first six matches of the season which was a 2-1 win away at Bradford City but it should be noted that Bradford have really struggled at Valley Parade with just one win from their last five.
The Chairboys have put together a three match unbeaten run prior to this trip to London following draws with Plymouth Argyle and Luton Town along with the Bradford victory, but the win at The Bantams has been their only success in their last seven outings on their travels.
Wycombe opened on the road with a disappointing 3-0 loss away at Doncaster Rovers but although they’ve improved with the aforementioned results at Plymouth and Bradford, they’ll face a tough task of getting anything out of Charlton Athletic at The Valley here today.
