Chelsea take on Crystal Palace on Sunday afternoon as the betting tips continue in the Premier League with the hosts seeking to extend their unbeaten start to the season to 11 matches.
Prior to this weekend’s action in the top flight, Chelsea sit in third place and two points behind the top two clubs, Manchester City and Liverpool as they prepare for the visit of London rivals, Crystal Palace.
Recent wins away at Southampton 3-0 and Burnley 4-0 have kept The Blues in the hunt for a tilt at the title, although perhaps one too many games have been drawn at Stamford Bridge for manager, Maurizio Sarri’s liking, but the recent stalemates were understandable…
Chelsea hold a 3-2-0 12/6 record so far on home turf which includes wins over Arsenal, Bournemouth and Cardiff City, as well as draws against Liverpool and Manchester United. Forward Hazard (7 goals) is enjoying his football again and scoring goals, while Barkley, Pedro and Morata (3 goals apiece) have provided useful support.
Crystal Palace grabbed a useful point at home to Arsenal in a lively 2-2 draw last weekend as The Eagles made Arsenal pay for failing to put the result beyond doubt at Selhurst Park. Crystal Palace now face another London foe in the shape of a more consistent Chelsea outfit.
Palace are in the middle of a poor sequence of results though right now, and although it’s true to say they haven’t exactly had the rub of the green in their recent encounters, the fact remains that Roy Hodgson’s side have managed to scrape up just one win from their last nine matches overall in the top flight.
The constant threat posed by Wilfred Zaha last season seems to have been nullified by a lot of teams so far this time around, and although Palace have gained away wins already at Fulham and Huddersfield Town, these were against two of the weakest sides in the division right now.
My betting tips suggest Chelsea will turn on the style here and be ahead by half-time and keep the lead.
