Europa League Betting at Boylesports

Chelsea Prediction

Chelsea will be looking to record a third consecutive win on the trot in all competitions when they play host to Ukraine outfit, Dynamo Kiev, following back-to-back wins in the Premier League with victories against Tottenham and Fulham.

These would have been important wins anyway for Maurizio Sarri’s side but the recent events in the Chelsea camp make these extremely much needed victories as the squad needed to show unison in light of what happened in the recent League Cup final.

The London club now have the chance to gain a lead in this first leg to take over to the Ukraine for the return leg, and having disposed of Malmo in emphatic style, beating the Swedish club 5-1 on aggregate, The Blues will fancy their chances of progressing here.

Chelsea have shown solid form in the Europa League in recent times as the hosts have won 10 of their last 11 ties overall, while at Stamford Bridge, they remain unbeaten from 12 matches played to date in this competition.

Key-Facts – Chelsea v Dynamo Kiev

  • Chelsea have won 10 of their last 11 ties overall in the Europa League
  • Chelsea are unbeaten in the 12 home matches played to date in this competition
  • Dynamo Kiev have won just 4 of their last 13 away ties in the Europa League

Dynamo Kiev Prediction

Dynamo Kiev narrowly squeezed past Greek outfit Olympiakos in the round of 32 as they drew 2-2 away in Greece in the first leg before securing their passage into the round of 16 thanks to a 1-0 home win at their NSK Olimpijs’kyj in Kiev in the second leg, to win 3-2 on aggregate.

The visitors have won their last three matches on the trot in all competitions thanks to their 1-0 win over Olympiakos as well as back-to-back wins in the Ukrainian Premier League with victories against Zorya 5-0 at home and a 2-1 win at Desna on the weekend.

Overall form in the Europa League has been pretty steady as Dynamo Kiev have lost just once in their last eight matches overall, which was a 1-0 loss at home to Jablonec last season, while results away from home in this competition have seen the visitors lose just once in their last 10 matches on their travels.

By the same token, Dynamo Kiev have managed just four wins from their last 13 away ties in the Europa League, and their last visit to face English opposition ended in a 2-0 defeat away at Everton back in 2015.

In Chelsea, they face arguably their biggest test away from home in the Europa League for some time, and they’ll do well to keep the scores level for the second leg I feel.

Betting Tips Verdict

Chelsea will be keen to take a first leg lead into the return tie, so I’m expecting the hosts to come out of the blocks early here.
