Cheltenham Town sit in a disappointing 19th place in League Two following five defeats from their last seven matches which has prevented the west country outfit from lifting themselves further away from the relegation zone.
Recent losses to Crawley Town, Tranmere Rovers, Carlisle United, Colchester United and Grimsby Town have done the damage in recent times, but The Robins will have been encouraged by back-to-back home wins against Macclesfield Town and Yeovil Town which has kept them at arms length from the bottom two in the division so far.
Cheltenham possess a useful six point cushion ahead of second from bottom club Macclesfield Town prior to tonight’s action, while their home record stands at a reasonable 5-4-6 19/23 which includes just one defeat from their last eight matches overall.
However, with just two clean sheets at home so far this season, the hosts always seem to give their opponents a way back into the match and this could be the case again here this evening.

Cambridge United have lost just once in their last six matches overall in League Two which was a 1-0 loss away at 8th placed Exeter City, but recent wins over Stevenage, Notts County, Northampton Town and Port Vale have helped them avoid dropping down to the relegation zone so far this season.
However, an away record of 3-2-10 10/31 includes six defeats from their last seven matches on their travels which has seen The U’s suffer defeats at Oldham Athletic, Crewe Alexandra, Tranmere Rovers, Morecambe, MK Dons and Exeter City.
That said, five of Cambridge’s six defeats were away at top half opposition so they have had to endure a difficult sequence of fixtures on their travels, but they may well fancy their chances of walking away with a point or better at Whaddon Road against a Cheltenham Town side who are not guaranteed of all three points here.
In addition, Cambridge United have avoided defeat in their last two visits to the west country with a 0-0 stalemate and a 1-0 win prior to that, so they’ll be without any fear here.
